Collaborative Project - Processing View Point Interactive Installation

For this installation, a kinect can catch one audience’s movements and the movements can be projected on a big screen. According to the audience’s position, the image on the screen can be a big cell, a group of cells, a skeleton and Sci-fi lines.

This project is about human evolution. At the beginning (the very left side of the screen) the human being is just a cell, then the cell grows to a group of undifferentiated cells (the second left side of the screen). Later, the cells differentiate into various parts of the human being, like the skeleton and organs. In this part (the third left), I use the skeleton to represent the differentiation of cells. The last part is the future human being, which is shaped as horizontal moving lines. In today’s society, identity already needs advanced technology to prove it and there is a tendency that in future we will scan our faces, fingerprints or the whole body to identify ourselves and the scanning image will be the proof and the symbol of our presence. Therefore, the last part (the very right side of the screen) is the scanning person in the future.

Personal Project - Automatic Generated Follower by Renderman Shading Language and MEL

This scene will be fully generated automatically after you click one button.

Every time, the color of the flower heart and the arrangement of the petals and leaves can be different because of the code for randomization.

The texture of daisies was written in Renderman Shading Language. The modeling, texturing, lighting, depth of the field were written in MEL.

Responsibility: Full credits except the wooden texture and the spiral coding of the flower heart.

Language: Renderman Shading Language, MEL
